the best times of the year are....

NOW! Thanksgiving... the cold settling in.. the family coming and going.... Christmas.... Presents... Family.... New Years!

These are my favorite times, despite the cold. Sometimes I just can't stand the cold, other times it's dealable... However the cold doesn't appear present when you are warmed by love, happiness and family!

I experienced all 3 yesterday and today. Yesterday brought on another thanksgiving! My mom was planning on driving to Georgia with my brother. I, of course, did not want to travel on late Thanksgiving afternoon.... when you eat the food!! And she ended up leaving later so they got there past 10! Holy cow. Yes, I'd love to see my family but not driving late then getting up early or not even sleeping for Black Friday..
So I stayed here in the state.

I had dinner, Sonny's, on Wednesday with R's side of the family. They're so great! Then that was the last night my immediate family stayed at the house. It was all dismantled and saddening. Thursday was turkey day! Each year, I've never been at all hungry. This year was complete opposite! I decided to go to R's grandparents' house where their Thanksgiving is held each year. This was my second year going :) And it was much better, felt more like I felt in. Two cousins of R's dad, was there from New York. They are great!! Loved meeting them! It was a much better, more fulfilling year. Drove the Willy's jeep (ok I *rode* in it, not drove) to the lake. They're house sits right on a lake! Everybody was there, so nice to see them. Hung out for a lil bit and then it was time to go shoot guns! Ok, I was so nervous; my anxiety heightened, from last year. I went but I had never shot a gun before! EVER!!! So I was nervous. I vowed to get a bunch of practice so I would be ready for next year. I was in that I had shot a .22 cal rifle, .20 gauge shotgun, .22 pistol and a .38 special revolver. I knew how to hold a gun but that was pretty much it. I had never shot birds (clay pigeons) before so I was completely nervous. Ah well. R and fam shot. Then his cuz M, which I knew after that would be my turn. I was nervous............. R's dad helped me out though. Didn't know how to cock... All I knew was how to pull the trigger, which way the shell goes in, turning on& off the safety and yeahh... So finally got the .20 gauge shotgun loaded...... just pointed in the air.. didn't know exactly where. I could feel him behind me. 1st time... miss. 2nd time.. BOOM.... hit!!! 3rd time ... miss. Oh well. So that's all I shot for the birds. But I felt good! SO good!

R took M home in the jeep then came back. Waited awhile then it was time to go to the cow field. There was a .223 rifle, .22 rifle and Uncle T's 30/30 and .22. I didn't shoot R's military .22 or the old .22 T had. I shot the .223 first .... REALLLY LOUD! So I decided to wear ear plugs for that. Shot it.... Niceeee....... Then planned on shooting the .22 but the sight was not working for me. Then I decided to shoot the 30/30 which is also supposed to be loud. It was but ah well. Liked it!!! Woooooooooot.. 2 hours of shooting :)

Then it was eating time and I was starving and very talkative :)))) Finallly ate, thought I was full but still hungry later... SO weird of me. Then I got to stay the night at my boyfriends!!! I thought I was gonna sleep on the couch but she said I could sleep with him in my bed but just respect her and not do anything. Absolutely, momma-in-law. ;) It was soo nice cuddling.... <3 I love that... It was beautiful. Then he left at 5 to leave to go fishing! He forgot something though..... ME! ;) hehee. Woke up, got dressed. R's mom was planning on going to the lake and I thought I was gonna leave. She asked if I would go with her. So I said sure, not thinking of my grandma leaving. Oh and Pet Paradise decided not to tell me that if you pick up your doggies after noon that there was a late fee! And that the 2nd Groupon couldn't be applied! So lucky that I had a 50 bucks prepaid card and money that I picked up from my mom. But all money is gone now. Anyways, had a great time at the grandparents house with the inlaw side of family. They're all great! Then we left sometime around 11. His mom was going to bring me with Publix and her parents but luckily, so luckily, she decided to drop me off at my suv (she calls it a truck! lol) and do a little cleaning at the house. SO luckily. Got on my road and called Pet Paradise who informed me of stuff I had to pay and that there would be late fee after noon.
Hung up. Looked at clock. 11:45. oh shit. This is practically in ANOTHER town.
Pedal to the medal baby...
Sped up past the speed limit... 10 over, 20 over, 30 over, 40 over. I was going EIGHTY. I *had* to get there. And I wouldn't have had enough money for a late fee, unknowing then of the unusable Groupon..... I finally got to the end of the road. Turned left. Speed limit 55. Went over it. Maybe 15 over. At most. Turned right. Got behind two very slow cars. Passed one. Got over. Passed again. And I was off, the vehicle slowly becoming an ant in the distance. Went 70+, maybe 80. I was there. No parking. Found a place. Got in. Checked my phone. 12 pm. NO late fee! GOt my dogs, the food, leashes/collars and I was out of there!! It took me 15 minutes to get there and do you know how long it took me to get back?! 45 MINUTES!! Filled up gas after I left R's house... Wasted a quarter of the gas I got... Ah well.... It was well worth it I believe. I loved seeing my dogs. They're tired now.. just laying down. SO nice... but they forgot a bone. so they are mailing it! NOT wasting my gas to go back again. She asked "leave it for next time?" I almost spurted out "There won't be a next time"..... ha. But it's the truth.

So that has been my out of school, Thanksgiving holiday experience! My favorite part was cuddling... <3 I think R's mom would let me stay the night again but I have my doggies. I think I'll feel more safe. Can't wait for R to get back!! Also, college men's basketball game tonight. Hope to go :) Tomorrow is more turkey eating a little thanksgiving at R's. Hope for a corn casserole, damn it was good yesterday. I can't wait to hug and kiss R. I just remember cuddling and sleeping well but also waking up multiple times, mmmmm. I love him.. And he had to get up, heard his alarm, heard him packing up, doing stuff, he came back. Asked if he was leaving, he did. Couldn't really see him or if my eyes were closed... but we kissed... aww.. <3
